Okay, here's a little lady you might know as the Normandie.  Of course she makes shipgeek's top 10 list.  In a word?  "Drop dead gorgeous" just about sums it up.  Every detail, every rivet, every vase and drawer pull, meticulously thought out, designed, and maximized.  That said, I know it's heresy, but I find her "deco" just a bit "baroque."  Still, I do appreciate the Normandie's beauty and jaw-dropping design for sheer audacity alone, and so she squeaks into the top 5! 

I have included color photographs here as well as some design sketches (which I absolutely adore).  A friend of mine in New York owns an original Normandie design sketch that's to die for, but I try not to covet my neighbor's collection (insert smiley face here).  This ship was truly one of a kind, and met such an unfortunate fate at the hands of the United States Government.  Quelle surprise!
